Quality Issues!
Got the system installed for my parents just like a system I have installed at my place. Only problem is we instantly encountered serious problems connecting wirelessly to home network and sound lag for speakers. Contacted Sony customer support and they confirmed that there was something wrong with the unit and suggested I sent it in for repair. Complete BS and will be returning this unit to Best Buy to avoid the BS that Sony has been sending me. Good products but terrible reliability and support.

Average to good system, no complaints, but...
Overall, I have no real complaints about this system. It is the first home theatre system i ever bought so I don't have much room for personal comparison outside of systems I have heard at friends homes, stores, etc. The system was easy to set up. The internet connection was a bit more complicated. I am not very technologically savy and I figured it out fairly easy and/or got help from a sony customer service person. I REALLY like the Netflix connection. I was disappointed to find out most other services (ie Pandora) require a paid subscription. The sound is good too however I was a little disappointed with the overall power of the subwoofer and rear speakers. I suggest you buy on sale. I think I am happier with the purchase too because I bought it at $100 off and then had to buy an HMDI cable for $50. At store price plus an extra $50 I think my ratings above would have been worse. Again, overall an average to good system to watch movies, listen to music and enjoy at home. I hope the 3D compatibility will prove to be useful in the future should I get a 3D TV. Unfortunately, many of the feaures beyond that are worthless or require additional money or subscriptions.

good range and separation
The blu-ray player and surround system work well, but I have trouble with controlling the sound with my Logitech remote (My Harmony). I can't imagine high definition TV without the surround sound feature.

Excellent System
This is a great all-in-one system! Plenty of power for any size room, great Blu-ray player, and wireless internet right out of the box! It's hard to find a better value for a system out there. This is my 2nd Sony Blu-Ray product, and they don't disappoint! Can't review the durability, as I've only had it a few weeks, but so far there have been no problems.

Great System
This is a great system. The only thing I don't like about it is that you can only play mp4 format files from an external source or disc. It list's all the compatible files in the user guide but when I called Sony and asked why it won't play mpg, avi, etc, they told me that "Only the Canadian models will play those formats". Well, I'm not moving to Canada. Kind of weird because my PS3 plays them all.

Great System
This is a great system, and the setup was extremely easy. The sound quality is decent, but is not the best I have heard for an all in one system. The internet services are great. I love being able to listen to Pandora radio on my surround sound. The only thing I don't like is the Netflix interface. You have to setup you instant queue on your computer and I don't have the option to search for available media for instant view. All and all this is a great system, the picture quality is amazing and the upconverted picture is not that much different from a blu ray. I have also purchased the wireless receiver and transmitter to make my rear speakers somewhat wireless, which is excellent as well. I would definitely recommend this system for anyone who enjoys watching movies.

Nice BRD player
Nice player, a little difficulty on the set-up, but not too hard. If you buy one, during the initial set-up make sure the volume on the unit is turned up, factory setting was 0 and it took a little while to figure out why we had no sound. My bad! HDMI cable is the only way to go, make sure you have one or two. I had to use one for the Blu Ray and one for our cable box, so I suggest checking your needs before you go to buy the player. Also had to contact Sony tech support because the player would stop playing and freeze, after resetting factory defaults it seems to work fine. Not sure what that is about.

wires marked very well
easy to set up, however, it would be nice to have longer wires for the back speakers. Sound is good.

Excellent Sound, good for smaller spaces.
I happen to really enjoy my new sound system. The ONLY thing that bothers me are the speaker wires...I should have gone the extra couple of bucks to make sure that they were wireless. Otherwise, sound quality is awesome, subwoofer is diesel, and the wireless internet connection for access to netflix and other internet features is great.

Good deal for $350
I am not an audiophile. But this thing does what it's supposed to. The sound is fine. Blu-ray is great, a lot of additional content after you get the wireless hooked up. I didn't buy the wireless speaker adapter (S-AIR) because I already had hidden wires ran to the rear surround speakers. Might get it though so I can take the rear surrounds out to the deck if needed in the summer Set up is real easy. My only complaint is that the speaker wires (nicely color coded) have a molded plug in on the recevier end. For me it was a hassle because I already had speaker wire ran in the wall, so I had to splice the Sony speaker wire to my hidden stuff then plug into the receiver using the molded plug. I couldn't just run my existing hidden wire and clamp it in the receiver receptacles because they won't accept just the wire ends. Not a big deal really, but I wonder if I lose some sound quality that way?? Overall, very happy with the purchase. Might get another for the basement.

Sony Excellence (As Usual)
I purchased a Sony XBR series LCD TV about 4 years ago and had recently started looking at upgrading to an LED set. But since the picture quality still rivals that of today's sets I could not justify the expense unless I simply wanted a larger set. I instead looked at my Sony Dream System which didn't have Blu-Ray or Internet as well as my new house is an open floor plan and the Dream System could not produce the same quality sound as it did in an enclosed room. For roughly 1/3 the cost of my original Dream System I got everything I needed and then some. The sound quality is flawless and the system is easy to set up. The internet applications more than satisfy my needs and it was all very easy to set up. The sound auto calibration set up does a great job in balancing the settings so you don't get blown away between voices and back ground effects. An added bonus is watching my pets react to sounds the never noticed before when in the room with the TV on. I hooking up the system, TV, VHS, Internet, speaker installation, etc was less than 2 hours start to finish and I have been sitting pretty ever since. The Blu Ray playback effectively upgraded my TV as well as the sound quality experience. Sony is unbeatable in my opinion.

Charming System.
What can i say about this HTiB. I live in an apartment complex and am going to move after a couple of years so thats the reason i wanted something small and not a custom system at present. Did a lot of research and eventually ended up buying this system. So far I have been using it for the last 6 weeks and it just superb. Plays music like a charm and the fills the room appropriately. The design is acceptable and goes with any kind of furniture. The sound quality is fine, especially watching action movies and the way bullets shoot from all the sides, just excellent effect. CONS - The wires are too short and i had to buy extra speaker wire from amazon (10 $) and after hooking up the extra wire, proper arrangements took me a while but it was worth the effort. They could just have given more wire for the front speakers. Some of my personal video files don't work especially in MKV format, but since they work on my TV, i am okay with it. For the price of 350 plus tax, its not a wrong deal for beginners.

Best Home theater at best buy with best price
All those who r reading reviews to decide what home theater they should buy,You are looking at the best product..Sony is best..Sound is very crispy clear and its subwoofer can thump well to shake the walls. For its discounted price of $349 I think there is no other home theater system can deliver the same quality,Samsung is ok but its subwoofer is not that good..dont buy a lg,whatever the discount they give... SonyBlu ray player is pretty good.the best thing is that you can watch Internet videos like youtube videos, movies etc all at no cost..LAN wireless adapter was included..Go for it!!

Very happy
I've been looking around for a good blu-ray home theater system and I found this one. My old blu-ray was having problems playing recently released blu-ray movies so I wanted something new that could play the movies instead of giving me a blank screen. I'm very happy with this system. The set up was super easy. I read other reviews on here and saw that people had problems with wire length with speakers but I found that to be no issue. Some are a bit short, but I didn't need to put them too far so no problem for me there. It sounds great. I wish that it had wireless speakers for the rear but for what its worth its fine. Far better than what I had before. Love the picture. I just need to get a 3D HD TV now and I'll be set!

Excellent Tower Speakers Black Shine Streak Free
Clean Speaker System, the only it's missing is a microphone plug-in jack so that you can record your voice through the channel speakers, works well, I was surprised that it had a 3D Blu-Ray Technology built-into the side of it, I am amazed that I can connect to Netflix-movie rental service, Really, hope to keep it for many years, i really enjoy using this product, the speakers are clear and produce a very vibrant center voice in my room. Sounds Great with Nature Programs, it was part of a deal at BestBuy.com where the deal is if you buy a Sony 46" Bravia you are given the Home Theatre system for free.

Great for people who want it done right and easy!
In my opinion this is a great HTIB setup. I'm not writing this review over a comparison vs. topic. This surround sound shines with movies. THat is the best feature for this Sony setup, besides even music is great either way. I'm currently listening to Pandora internet radio as I write this review. The internet apps never let the interface of this HTIB feel boring. I'm always entertained, always. For me this setup had a feel that re-introduced the "HTIB" brand. I love this so much i sold my Sony/Onkyo 7.1 setup. That was an amazing setup, it was not a HTIB. It was all components, with HDMI hookups. It was a newer model, nothing old at all. People would think I was crazy. Not at all, I actually feel this radio is a trend setter. The fact that it has very small speakers that deliver very rich and detailed sound quality. That is what stands out to me. Clear vocals with detailed bass. Nothing is ever distorted in my opinion. I never really turn this radio past 26. I believe the radio has a max volume of 34? Either way It is a great package. This radio is "The Situation" Lmfao! With the wifi dongle included, and 3D blu ray setup featured. Hd Sound Dolby features. Why not buy this radio. Who really wants all that clunky radio equipment anyway? People who had negative reviews of this setup, I don't understand what could make them happy. Maybe a $4,000 sound system. Then who would really ever wanna afford that? I bought this packaged in a deal this past July. I bought the Sony Bravia 55HX800 with the 2 pairs of 3D glasses this Htib, and 3D reciever. all for 2900.00 This radio was billed on the receipt as 299.99. I feel like I got a good deal. Especially for the LED Tv being only a month old. I have four 3D bluray titles, and they are amazing. Way better than going to the movies. Yes you should buy this setup, it's almost perfection in a box. (when paired with Sony equipment)

Even though the name contains Home Theater System it fails the minimum requirement for multiple inputs that can be received. Also, it does not have an input to receive additional components.

This system is GREAT!!!
We got this system basically for free in a package deal when we got our 52" LED Sony TV. We have it in a fairly small living room. While watching movies we usually have the volume set between 15-20 (one setting above 33 says MAX). With the size of the tv and the volume that comes from this system, it's truly an awesome theater experience!!! We love this system and the fact that we can access huge amounts of internet video through the wi-fi adaptor that comes with it is a BIG PLUS also! PICURE AND SOUND ARE GREAT!!!!! NO REGRETS!!!!

Great Value, Nice Features
Equipment setup is easy, everything is color coded. Sony uses special connectors for speakers. wireless Internet setup is a little more involved,, but not terrible. Sounds really good. If you have a Bravia TV this has some great features through the Bravia link, you can control almost all tv functions with the home theater remote. The only downside to this unit is that its an all in one unit and not much room for upgrades or add ons. But for the money it's a great value.

Very poor quality, unit is defective on arrival
Bought this BDV-E570 to complement my Bravia KDL-40V5100. Out of the box, this E570 unit's HDMI output port was defective. the TV displayed the message "No signal" when I selected the HDMI input port connected to the E570. Sony's Tech support confirmed my finding. After discussing the matter for 1 1/2 hours with Sony Tech. Support, Customer Relations, national customer relations and the Sony Service Center in Loredo TX, Sony refused to replace the unit. They only wanted to "repair" it. I refuse to repair a $500 component that is defective right out of the box. Besides, Sony could have "repaired" it before shipping, if they had done their job and thoroughly tested the unit. If Sony ships out an untested or defective electronic product, they should not expect their paying customers to ship it back to them for repairs. They must accept the responsibility of their failure and be grateful that the customer is willing to accept an exchange. As a rule, a defective or DOA digital input or output port, such as HDMI, is usually the result of ESD, Electro-Static Discharge that is caused by mishandling the electronic component. This sort of damage may be permanent as in this case, or worse, intermittent. I own a 60" XBR1 rear projection Sony that also developed a malfunction in the 1st 3 years and a class-action suit forced Sony to extend the warranty and repair it. The Bravia TV that I mentioned before had a defective display right out of the box and Sony had to replace it within the first 2 weeks. As it stands, I will NEVER buy a SONY product of any kind again, not even batteries, now that I know their quality control. Adios Sony!

Great product -- after set-up
The speaker wires are far too short with a proprietary connection so you can't easily use other wire. Even in a relatively small room, this forced placement of the receiver and speakers in sub-optimal locations and increased the set-up time. Be prepared to spend a few hours setting it up, especially if you are connecting other equipment and running speaker wires behind furniture. When it is finally set-up, the sound is great, it looks good, and its easy to operate. Good value for the money. It would be even better if Sony provided a few more feet of speaker wire.

A nice set for a moderate home theater enthusiast
I was looking for a nice flat panel TV and came across a special Best Buy was running where this was included Free with the purchase of a Bravia 52" 120 Hz TV. I am generally against the cheesy all in one type systems, I prefer components that I choose together, but since it was included for free with the TV, it pushed me into that one. I got the system home and was happy with the sound that comes out of the system being that it is not my main home theater system. the blu-ray player that comes integrated with it makes the TV absolutly look awesome! It also has a couple of other nice features, can plug in your ipod and play through the system in front USB port. Can do audio from your cable box via a digital audio in. It was really easy to hook up with the set up that it guides you through the beginning. The only snafus that I had with the system was that when I was ready to use, was that I rushed through setup and I couldn't get signal on the TV through the HDMI cable so I had to hook up component cables to se what I was doing and redo setup. I also would have liked it if you could run your cable signal through the box so I didn't have to run multiple wires tot he TV, but I guess that would make it a more expensive product. My other complaint would be that the speakers have the propriatary plug on it that you have to use so you can't really put on larger speaker wire. It is probably not needed, but it still gives the perception it is just a really cheesy product, but I guess it all sounds fine so whatever... Anyways, I do really like it, just some of the other things it can do. Works really well with the Sony Bravia TV I bought with it.

Nice system except for speakers
The center speaker was made from thin plastic and just felt cheap it also sounded very tinny. I kept the speakers from my previous Sony stereo instead and put the new ones on a shelf unused. Too bad Sony made the speaker connectors different between models. That made using my previous in wall speaker wires a little difficult. Otherwise is has very nice feature. No other problems. I also like the fact that the white light on the front is not super bright.

I like, can't wait to see how the 3D works
I am very please with this system. It was a little tricky setting it up for my projector. Had to do some manual setting on some of the settings were auto was an option. The unit is set up for wide screen. I have a 4:3 120 inch screen and at 4:3 on my old system if I watched a 4:3 movie, it filled the whole screen. This new one only fills the wide screen portion, and puts black panels on the sides which makes for a much smaller picture on 4:3 movies. Luckily I still have my old system hooked up too, so I can watch the 4:3s in six foot by eight foot...... but, I was blown away by the difference in picture quality over the dvd player. even with dvds unconverted on the blue-ray player. Wow. Looks like I am going to be spending more time in my theater now. Eat your heart out, 50 inch plasma in my office (which I love too)
