  • Good handheld but seems a little fragile

    I've owned multiple Nintendo handhelds in the past and though nothing has broken on it so far, it seems a bit more fragile than those. The graphics and software are high quality and the ease of play is good.

    I absolutely love my PSP, only sorry I didn't get it sooner... Wish the screen was easier to protect, it's like a target, everything seems drawn to it and the protectors you can buy are difficult to apply to say the least. Glad the game prices are coming down, really enjoy this system!

    This system is a great alternative to the more pricey PS3 & Xbox without all of the bugs. Fun to play without all of the extras you need for the other systems. My only complaint is that this is my second PSP because the door broke and it would've cost $99 to replace!!!.

    My son had the older PSP model and was looking to purchase this one. He wasn't sure at first if he would like it, so as a Birthday present I bought it for him and he "LOVES" it. He spends hours on it and loves all the features he didn't have with his previous one.

  • Great System for those who like quality

    The graphics, the feel of the handheld, its all superb. Hooking it up to a TV, using the remote play with the PS3, Its really good. I would've gotten the PSP Go, but since you cant get discs, and only wifi, i went with the 3000 and it was a really good purchase. Game quality is really good, how the buttons and the joystick are set up is a bit strenuous at first but you get used to it quickly. Some downsides is that its really a fragile system, you don't handle it with care and let it drop a couple of times, you wont be playing for long. Another thing is that since you have to buy a memory card for the games and anything else, its a little tedious. But overall, great product and i highly recommend it if you are serious about handhelds.

  • Great For Adults Too

    I am 35 years old and I got this for me and my son. I use it more than he does. Mostly for Facebook. Although it uses an on-screen keyboard, it moves really super fast when going from one letter to the other. It picks up my connection and finds other connections when I am out. Another thing I use it for is arcade games like Pac-Man. Nothing beats playing Pac-Man while your woman shops for shoes. There are downfalls which is why I didn't give this 5 stars. The volume for movies is low. Really low. Maybe it's better if you use headphones. The games are cheap and so are the graphics on lots of games. Another bad thing is memory for certain websites. You can not access Yahoo. The site uses too much memory for the PSP. Currently there is no app for Yahoo. I even tried Yahoo Mobile and it's still too big to run. This PSP is worth the $129 now that the price has dropped. I got this durning Black Friday for the same price.

  • Nice PSP update

    i owned the first gen psp and this thing blows it out of the water it has very quick load times on most games it has a fast interface quite a few customization options and a great selection of games depending on your taste the body is well designed but a little bit flimsy and light it feels a little cheap in design but thats not a major problem it has a decent music player and with a few minor tweaks is almost as good as ipods interface it also has minis which i thought was a nice little addition and it plays PS1 games that you can play on it and the ps3 if you have one i enjoyed my psp and am waiting for sonys next Portable :)

  • great little PSP for a gamer

    This PSP can be hooked to computer by USB cable to receive updates and down load games. Battery life a little short, but you can use Ac cord for home use. The game graphics are good for a portable and buttons work very easy.

  • Yet Another Amazing Sony Device

    I suppose that the main purpose for the Play Station Portable (PSP) is that it's yet another gaming device for the end user. Though this is true, you're also looking at a PSP that can control your PS3 and has built in wifi. You can also surf the 'net, watch movies, play recorded digital audio, view photos and expand the memory for downloadable content! The battery life has exceeded 3.5 hours on flights for myself with out having to go with the upgraded battery, and everything is nice and compact meaning that it's easy to travel with. I love the fact that with the PSP-3000 model you have the option to either play UMD (disc media) games/movies and that with the expandable memory card slot you can chose to download content from the PSN store online. The graphics are amazing for a portable gaming device, and with over 100 hours of play on mine, I've had zero malfunctions with the hardware (or software for that matter). All in all, I couldn't be happier with my PSP-3000. For the price, you're not going to find much of a better bang for your buck with this unit in comparison to other portable game systems. I hope this review helps someone out there who may be on the fence about purchasing one!

    I had a DS Lite for 3 years unused or at least a 1/2 year to 1.5 years in my closet I decided to sell it for this PSP knowing i HAD a 1001 PSP which failed on me I got it on the 24th as i wanted it badly and sold my DS Lite and boy,did i make the right descion to sell my DS

    the psp 3000 is awesome especially for the fact that it may be used as a mp3,movie player, videogame, internet browser etc. PSP has cool graphics and its also like a mini PS3 because it may be connect to a HDTV so you can use it on your tv full sreen even fopr seen movies on your tv owesome the only inconvinience is the game libary it has great games such as metal gear solid, mlb the show, fifa and may others but it doesnt have adventure games such as mario, pokemon or zelda wich are pretty cool. but if you like shooter,fight and racing games it is perfect for you.

    pew pew! wow! these are good graphics. thats what people are saying about the psp 3000. this system is a multimedia console. it has music,videos,internet browser,playstation network,and best of all... games. features:d-pad, PlayStation buttons, 4.3 in. screen, analog stick, microphone, SD card slot, and bottom buttons like home,brightness,select,start,volume.on the back is the slot where you open it and you insert your game or UMD. the menu is like the PS3's menu. overall, this design is hot and is a great multimedia gaming system. the battery life is okay and nothing to complain about.

  • Great portable entertainment!

    We have owned our PSPs (we have 3) for over 2 years and I have to say that we just plain enjoy them! You can do so much with it, play games, watch movies, look at photos, and surf the internet (the internet is really slow, but still fun) We like to play together and online with others. The picture quality is fantastic! This is one of my favorite portable gaming systems!

  • PSP review

    The PSP met almost all of my expectations. However, I gave it 4 stars on value for price because for some reason mine shuts off sometimes when the system is reading the disc. I gave it 3 stars for design because it took me almost a week to discover that the button that looks like a small speaker on the left side under the directional buttons is actually an analog stick. It could be a little taller or the circumference of the stick could be a bit larger for the thumb, but its no deal breaker. Other than that I have been satisfied with the product.

    this was a sony product iwas looking forward to own but its was not what i expected i found this psp to be to hard to use geting my music on this become a chore that does not keep me intrested in useing this. asfor gameing its ok the umd movies are to expansive and a hard to find .would be a great if was easy to use.

  • Sony factory refurbished

    Bought this factory refurbished from the Sony store, not BestBuy.. The saies clerk told me it had a 90 day warranty. About a month later, it started having problems. The green power light would come on, but there was no audio or video. I called the Sony support 800 number. The customer service rep informed me that Sony factory refurbished products DO NOT HAVE ANY WARRANTY and she would not help me. I went online and found hundereds of other users with the exact same problem. I tried their suggested fixes, but now I still have the same problem. Now I have a 'brick' as the other online users call it. If you buy one of these, make sure to buy a NEW product that comes with a 1 year warranty!

  • An Awesome Device!!!

    This is an awesome device! When I turned it on I was completely blown away from the colour quality of the screen. The internet browser was a breeze to set up and so was everything else. The quality of the games are phenomenal as well. The speakers are great. I have yet to use the microphone, but I'm sure that it will work well. Overall, it was a great buy!

    the 3000 was upgrade from 1000 for me. im so glad i did it. i bought the dissidia package deal so not the black one but same psp just its silver. if your going to buy a psp-3000 i would go for one the package deals over the core. the 3000 is a great upgrade. it is lighter and thinner. i bought this one over the psp-go because it is cheaper and can do the exact same thing. i think the 3000 is actually better than the go just for the fact the memory cards are cheaper and if you want you can buy the extended battery pack and get longer battery life from your psp. games, music, movies, pictures, internet.... is there anything else a person can ask for from such a small device?

    they psp is a great portable system. it does everything that all the singal devices do in one great system. the only thing i have exsperienced with it is the durability is not all that great. i have had the psp for a while and took as best care of it as i could and one day i noticed a big crack on it just under the psp logo. just one thing if you get this system get a skin for it to protect it you will thank me later.

  • Excellent Game machine

    I own a XBOX 360, a PS3, a Wii, a PS2, and a XBOX and decided I wanted a handheld for travel. The PSP is a fantastic game machine. Even after playing all my other video game machines, I have spent alot of time with the PSP. There are many very fun games and the graphics are unbeleivable for a hanheld. The great thing about the PSP 3000 is you can use UMDs which are available very inexpensively. The only negative is the piano black version shows every fingerprint you get on it. However, I still think the black looks better than the silver (it is worth the fingerprint issue).

    Well when I would play it at night and even during the day the disc player would make a very loud noise every 30 seconds, the PSP screen smudges a lot. Overall I gave it a good.

    i love this game. its very compact. the graphics are great. i take it almost everywhere i go so that when i have nothin to do---i have somethin to do. and most of the time when i take it to work i get caught up in the game and end up having to shut it dwon and rushing to finish my work. everyone at my job os tryin to get one now. i can t wait to see what the psp go is goin to be like. i will be the first in line. im not sure when it comes out though. can somebody find out and let me know please. thanx

  • Pretty nice; Great graphics!

    I bought my PSP a couple years ago, and for the most part have been pretty happy with it. There is a wide variety of games, ranging from games for 5 year olds to games for 21+ year olds. The controls are ergonomicaly placed, and the screen is big and has excellent graphics. Unfortunately, the system is made of plastic that resembles the stuff fast food toys are made out of, except not as solid. It collects fingerprints like a refrigerater door, and does not have the build quality of the cheaper Nintendo DS(i). Also, just about anything will overload the web browser and freexe it up. Overall, I would recommend this only to someone who cares about the gaming and nothing (I mean NOTHING) else.

    The PSP (playstation portible) is good for when you go on vacation. With it you can check your E-mail, pay games, and surf the web. If you have more than one memory stick you can easily lose one unless you have a PSP case. I like the PSP because it has fun games and it's portable.

    this is the best hand held out there. the nintendo ds is a great buy as well for thats geared for the younger gen. the nintendo ds is a lot of fun for adventure games like mario, or learning games, but for the older gen the psp is the way to go. the psp has built in wi-fi you can store music movies photos, pretty much anything on the psp. the graphics are better than the ds, the only downfall is the game selection isn't nearly as large as for the ds.

  • Best handheld system

    My brother just got a PSP and it was without question much more than I expected. I figured it would be another Nintendo DS or something along the line of that, but I was blown away when I saw all its capabilities and ridiculously clear picture. The PSP is virtually a mini PS3 only a lot cheaper. Definitely a good buy considering you can watch movies, listen to music, browse the web, and of course play video games, not to mention many other functions like hooking it directly up to a PS3 and TV.

  • SO FAR THE GREATEST PSP YET

    I bought my psp 3000 about four days ago.It is my first psp and I am happy with it. The things that are great about is are the graffix,and how portable it is. There are only two things about this psp that i dont like. One the system can be easily scratched, and two I didnt know that it didnt come with a memory stick so i am unable to save my games. But overall this is truly the greatest portable system. Before I bought this I did my reasearch. If you guys didnt know there is gonna be a new psp, which comes out in October (The psp go). I personally do not like it because the fact that you do not need UMDs. You have to download the games like an ipod. If you loose the psp, you loose your games and everything you bought with it. But lets just say you loose the psp 3000, you still have all of the games so you just need to buy the system again. Also the psp go has a smaller screen compared to this model of the psp.

  • So Much Better Than Older Versions

    I have owned a PSP 1000 for years but it was starting to fall apart so I updgraded to the PSP 3000 and wow what a difference. It is so much lighter and thinner. The picture on the screen is clear and you can see everything in the sunlight, something the older version had an issue with. If you are looking for a portible gaming system, music player, internet browser and a way to watch movies on the go; the PSP is in a league of it's own.

    i love having this for when i travel and the battery last a long time. i also like how you can turn if off and not have to turn off the game. the only bad thing is it only has one joy stick which makes it hard to move around in shooter game but you get use to it after a while.

  • Sony - PSP-3000 Core Pack System (Piano Black)

    The all new slimmer PSP 3000 comes in with a couple of new upgrades over the 2000 model. Primarily for the Skype functionality, a microphone is onboard along with a reduced glare 4.3" screen. Its a given that fingerprints will still be a continued issue for the PSP line. Thankfully, the age old problem of ghosting has yet to appear on my new PSP 3000. One of the sweeter features now is an upgraded (AV) video output support. Owners can now operate their systems with regular (NON HD) TV. I suggest buyers pick up a good composite or component cable. With the usual collection of great games, improved graphics is a major plus. As with all previous models, control buttons layout are very much like the classic Play Station. One area of concern is that load times for the UMD (Universal Media Disc) seemed to drag a bit. Its a given that purchasing the kit which includes the proprietary MS Duo Card is more cost effective in the end. Its obvious that Sony missed the boat when it went with its own proprietary format instead of the more widely used and less costly SD standard. Even though Wi-fi capable, the unit is outfitted with possibly the slowest version (802.11b) on the planet. It powers up via a 5 volt ac adapter or USB. Video playback is great as long as you copy your favorites on the memory stick Duo Card. Going any other way is definitely a slow dragged out process. When it comes to television, Sony's own version of Slingbox allows for free tv viewing. This PSP won't get confused with your IPOD anytime soon but music play is generally good. Another added feature is that it will even support music art. If one is going to display photos on the PSP I strongly suggest compressing your files. Photo display can be via slide show or singles. Of note, the PSP is also a web browser. However, its hit and miss for flash. Streaming internet radio via Shoutcast is a freebie. PSP offers a regular schedule of firmware updates. As with the earlier editions, via a network or the internet the unit can pick up audio, video and photo files that are stored on a PS3. The PSP 3000 comes with the standard 1200 mAh rechargeable battery. Battery life runs almost a full 5 hours whether one is gaming or watching a movie. Necessary accessories such as the Memory Stick Duo card, protective screen cover, headphones and a carrying case are not included. Not all PSP headphones are compatible with the PSP 3000. When purchasing headphones read the specs carefully. Even without the included accessories, the PSP 3000 still brings it on. I would definitely recommend this model as a gift or as a personal purchase. After all, it is Play Station

    The best hand held system I have ever played. I owned a DS which fell and broke a hinge and no one would buy it or fix it. Absolutely worst thing I ever played. The next Christmas I got the PSP 2000. I could now search the web play Resistance online with my friends store music photos and videos of course. The online is free and not that limited and can be fun and addicting. The store is always updating and the system software update couldn't take more than 5 minutes. The only bad things are that games and addons are a bit pricy the wi-fi drains your battery within hour and a half and not so many games have been coming out as of late that I am into and when on the browser you can't watch videos or play games... If I could see anything I would like home to come out on PSP I give this system a 8.5 out of 10 :)

    This is the best portable console you can find on stock now, although im a Halo player on 360, i DO have a PSP, and i recommend it. It has good graphics, Unlimited storage(depending on your Memory Stick), Has good games, and can store music, games, videos, and images. Also it has good accesories as the camera.

    The PSP-3000 has many features that make it 1 of the Best Portable Devices. Surfing the web, music player, and the games make it #1. Its design Slim, Light, and Portable also has something to with is popularity. And the LCD display features a high contrast ratio, a shorter response time, and improved anti-reflecting technology. The LOWS: The PSP doesn't have enough top selling games as other PlayStation system do. The PSP has many games, but they don't sell as much as the high rating games. The pricy add-ons also bring the rating down, but the add-ons are not a NEED to LIVE kind of thing. The BOTTOM LINE: Great device for portability and FUN. Good Price. And Many new games to come.     The psp 3000 is an amazing system. It can play music, view photos, go on the internet, use it as a phone, and even go to the playstation store. It is also very sleek looking. The only thing about it that is not so great are the games for the psp. I think there should be more fun and exciting games for the psp. The system itself is pretty good since you are able to download demos and play them for free. I mainly use my system to listen to music and view photos. Occasionally will play demos and games on it. But, I feel it is still worth the money.

    I got the psp a while ago and i am not too happy with it. It has no games on it that i want. The features the hardware has are very cool but i dont think there is that big of a game library for me. I suggest to wait for the PSP GO! (psp2) to come out. It is suppose to be shown at E3 this year.

I bought a siver 2000 just to have something new and I miss latch for umd door,it is nice and light and easy to operate!I recently bought the 3000 and even better,so I guess they just keep getting better! I bought an extra ratchet package just in case and have extra games,movie,memory,best way is buy the package deals! I highly Recommend all psp's!

  • Ever since it's inception, the PSP's awesome!

    My PSP 1000, the first generation of PSP, stopped working. So I decided to go ahead and get a new PSP. Still works great! If you've owned the original PSP, be advised this model is cosmetically different, but nothing to really consider. The new PSP is slimmer, speakers were moved up, the buttons seam smaller, the back half is glossy like the front and rather than having the tab you pull on to automatically open the UMD "door", there's now a little "lip" to manually open the UMD "door", finger print magnet so get yourself a micro fiber cloth. Minor differences. As I said, nothing to really consider. Built in Local Area Network feature to surf the 'net. I recommend you purchase the Media Manager software if you want to load music, pictures and movies or video clips to your Memory Stick PRO Duo. You can also connect to other PSP's for certain games. Decent selection of games and movies. Wide assortment of accessories. I absolutely love my PSP! I recommend it to any gamer! My scores: Overall is a 5 because I absolutely love my PSP! Value for price is a 5 because you definitely get more than what you pay for. Design is a 4 because I'm used to my old PSP and liked some of those features better. But, if I'd never owned a PSP prior to this model, Design would be a 5. Durability is a 4 because it is a fairly fragile machine. I highly recommend purchasing a protective case. I personally have the "Sony - Traveler Case for PSP". Fun is an absolute 5! Hands down one of my favorite little gadgets!

  • No warranty !!

    The Game System lasted 3 month then screen went bad. Sent to Sony for warranty repair. Will not fix anything but will sell you one. Spend your money on a better system.

    I Love the PSP to me the PSP has great games the PSP can also go on the internet i think that is waesome i say the DSI and PSP get an award for being great now The DSI is following the one of the best handhels in the world if you love the Other old 2008,2007,2006,and 2005 games you have to check it out the thing is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I got both PSP and DSI they both rock my world(i never out the PSP down)

  • Awesome

    I have owned Sony products for years now and have always been happy with their quality (except one laptop experience... but I digress) The PSP is no exception. It is an amazing little multimedia unit that does so much more than I ever realized when I purchased it. Music, games, movies and photos are all easily handled by the PSP. The display is top notch and the controls are laid out nicely and give you many options. The sound, however, is weak but I normally play with head phones on so its not a big deal. The only other negative is the pricey nature of Sony's memory sticks. They are ridiculously priced at best. The games are competitively priced and there is a pretty wide variety for most anyone. Very well built, great display, nice control layout and multimedia options that go on for days. I have owned this for three months.

    First, I have to say: thank you `BEST BUY` for service. PSP 3000I is greate. Good: 1. Menus are userfriendly, 2. Screen is very bright and colours are exellent. 3. System is overall light weighted. Bad: I will tell just a few points make me sorry. 1. Supported media files type must be expanded,(like divx,etc.) 2. Volume level on speakers aren`t enough, they should work on it. You should use headphone. 3. Touchscreen is needed when u use internet. 4. They should add a webcam for skype. 5. They can put software that will make us to be able to read e-book(pdf,word..) 6. They can put internal memory.(for system settings:time date...) I know if those happen it will be PDA+Game machine. But won`t it be greate?

  • best portable system

    The Sony PSP is by far the better of the two portable gamesystems. It plays games , music, movies, has an internet browser and can double as a cell phone. You can also download wallpapers to the PSP. It is almost like having a pocket-sized computer with you. I think the PSP is a must for any video game fan.

    This is my first portable electronic device ever! It doesn't have any scan lines like the silver one and it's black and shiny. You can put music on it, play games, videos, and use the internet. The screen is very bright, and the system is overall light weighted. When I first held it it felt like holding a piece of paper. So, yea it can break easily if you was to drop it.

  • Well worth the money

    I've been a PSP fan since they first hit the shelves with the 1000 model, and I've never looked back. The PSP is far superior than any other handheld gaming system on the market today. With it's huge screen that dominates the device as well as the other consoles, it's easy to see what makes this system a threat to the Nintendo Empire. The system also boasts some pretty powerful hardware underneath the sleek finish, allowing it to play the best looking games I've been able to throw in my pocket and take with me on the go. Speaking of the sleek finish, it's just a beautiful looking system as well. Whenever I'm out and about with it, I see the stares and glances. The only issues I've had for it is that Sony seems to have the PSP on the back burner, so to speak. What with the PS3 and the countless other electronic gadgets they produce, it seems that the PSP is a neglected child in their inventory of cool stuff, which is a shame because the PSP has an amazing amount of potential. But for now, the shelves are light on PSP games, most of which seem to be aimed for fans of japanese animations. The other issue is that when the slimmer PSPs rolled out, they felt rather cheap when compared to the bulky 1000s. The UMD door rattles a little bit, but besides that, it's a welcome reduction in weight. Overall, a great system and well worth the money. A must buy for the gamer on the go!

    I think this new psp system was a smashing idea but it breaks very easily and costs a whole lot of money.Other than that the color is great and it has really cool features.and a great grip for when youre playing.It is so cool you may never want to get off.
