Second set of phones.
I had a set of these phones for about two years, then while the wife was on the phone there was an on/off on/off power surge to the house about 3 times in a row. This somehow wiped out the base unit making all phones useless. I then spotted the same phones on line at Best Buy for $20 less than I paid for the ones I had (they were on sale at Circuit City). Since they can be expanded to six phones I ordered the new ones. The old base still worked as a charger, I hooked all six phones to the new base and we now have a phone in every room of the house. They all work great.

Horrible!
This phone is a complete waste of money and I wish I read these reveiws before purchasing it. The battery constantly dies even if the phone has been resting on the base all day, when the phone rings all of a sudden the phone goes blank (regardless if it is on or off the base) and you can't answer the call. As soon as the phone stops ringing and you unintentionally missed a call all of a sudden the screen lights up again and can be used. But do not be fooled, you turn on that phone and after 5 minutes the battery dies. At first I purchased this model and thought I got a defective phone and replaced it with the same phone and it continued to happen to the point where I thought it was the service. Two of my friends also have this phone and have the same exact problems. I have never rated anything online but this piece of garbage warranted a review.

CHANGE BATTERIES - Problem Resolved!
This phone has been a nightmare. Here are the problems I had experienced right out of the box: 1. No link to base messages 2. Battery low when there is a full charge right after taking it off the base 3. Screen goes out when attempting to switch call to speaker 4. Screen goes out when attempting to answer a call 5. Phone disconnects when attempting to answer or make a phone call I was on the verge of throwing this piece of trash phone out and something made me search for a potential fix or explanation on the Internet. I have always had a Panasonic phone and never had an issue over the years. When you call Panasonic they act as if you don't know how to use the phone...it is a new invention...really! I searched several sites and read through all the reviews both negative and positive. Several people indicated they had the same issues but changing the batteries solved the problem. I changed the batteries to AAA Ni-MH rechargeable batteries. I used a Radio Shack brand in one handset, Duracell in the second, and left the Panasonic brand that came with the phone in the last. I have had no issues with the handsets using the non-Panasonic brand batteries for two days. The problems I had were occurring on a daily basis, multiple times a day. Change the batteries, you won't regret it. BTW, Panasonic customer service does not have a clue and they will have you send the phone to them and replace it with a refurbished unit. I would have never guessed the batteries were the issue since they were brand new, rechargeable, and came with the phone. My best guess is that people who have never had an issue got a decent set of batteries versus my defective set. I love the phone now that my problems have been resolved. The voice quality is great. I love the night time and call block feature. I'm giving it 3 stars because I had to troubleshoot a brand new phone and Panasonic was useless. If they sent out new batteries to everyone that called, at no charge of course, I'm sure the ratings for this phone would improve. I will update this review if I have any other problems.

Do Not Buy!
This phone constantly disconnects; it happens randomly during calls & 90% of the time I use any functions (flash, speakerphone etc...) during a call. Individual handsets will sometimes short out mid-ring when a call is incoming. Naturally this is always the handset nearest to me so I am forever scrambling to get to an alternate handset. I no longer have the box or receipt (yes, lesson learned) but I am going to have to replace this set. I rarely experience a product flawed enough to warrant registering on a site, creating an account & taking the time to write a negative review but I really want to warn others. I read that many others have had the same issues so it sounds as though my experience is more the rule than the exception. If I could rate it "0" stars I would.

Piece of worthless junk!!
I bought this phone in July 2009 and for the first month it worked ok and that was probably because I was gone a lot that month. After that everything went down hill. The phone would go blank and then come back up and say no link to the base when someone would call. It got to the point to where 8 out of 10 calls it would do that. Apparently this is a widespread issued after reading others reviews. I couldn't live with this phone acting up so I went and bought a different brand which I've been very happy with since.

Panasonic Hits a Home Run!
I bought this phone yesterday after having a Vtech 5.8 Ghz Phone that died after 2 years from losing connection with the base permanently. I bought these phones from Walmart since they were marked down and I had a panasonic phone already and liked it. Not even knowing, I set up this phone and when I was reading the user guide, I saw that my panasonic 6.0 which led me to this phone, was compatible with this phone set. I set up the old 6.0 handset with the new base and Wal-ah!! I had 4 handsets!! I love the fact that the talking caller ID can use the directory name that you entered instead of the standard name given to the phone company, and the call block really helps with the tele-marketers. The phone also has the feature that the base can ring, so if you leave the handset in the den or something, you at least know the phone is ringing and you know whose calling with the talking caller ID function. The display is easy to read, the transfer / intercom feature needs some work and I would like to hear my greeting when the answering machine picks up but other than that, this phone is fantastic. Oh and all you people who want to wall mount this phone, it comes with the mount and you can keep the cables nice and tidey by tucking the cables inside the part facing the wall. Neat Feature. So, Overall the phone is great, but the price needs to be lowered. I walked in to Walmart to buy the KX-TG9344, but Im glad I bought this phone. I bought the phone set for $87.99 from walmart, and there I thought it was kinda pricey, but with the features you get with the base and handset, the next time i am going to buy a phone, its going to be a panasonic I buy. IGNORE THE BAD REVIEWS, BECAUSE IF YOU READ THE PHONE SET LIKE THIS BUT WITH ONLY 2 HS, IT HAS 4.8 STARS. Stay Away!!!!!
-after having the phone on the charger for little over 7 hrs (as the manual indicates for initial charge and phone tells you whenever the phone's battery is dead) used it for a 5 minute call and the phone said the battery was dead and needed to be charged -battery meter goes from 3 bars (full) to one bar without notice after a five minute call -when answering a call every so often the phone will shutdown (blank display) and you can't answer the call -the clearity of the phone is good when it works - the features are great (talking caller id, block numbers, sleep mode and much more) All this and I haven't even had the phone for 2 weeks.

Don't Buy!
When we first got this phone, it worked great and we enjoyed the features. However, within two months we began having the exact problems described by "bulldogs" review. The handsets will not connect to the base, regardless of whether you are right beside them or from a distance. They are finicky about taking a charge. Sound cuts in and out (like a bad cell phone signal might). This system has been a waste of money. After having them now for eight months, I am going to have to purchase a new system.

DON'T BUY THIS PHONE
I bought this phone because of the great reviews. I must have gotten a lemon. After only 3 months it stopped working properly. All three phones loses its connection with the base. Even if it's only five feet away. The phone will ring but you are unable to answer a call or make a call. Charging the handsets are even difficult. After placing the phone on the charger over night it will still give a prompt to re-charge the phone for 7 hours. At first I thought it was one piticular handset but all three phones have the same problem. Good luck contacting Panasonic for help.

This is a really great phone! It was very easy to set up and use. The phone itself is lightweight but durable and I just found out it has talking caller id! I highly recommend this phone and the best part is that you get 3 phones for the price of 1!!

Awesome phones
A reliable phone with excellent reception and answering systems, the Panasonic KX-TGA931T system is absolutely awesome. Replaced a GE 5.8 GHz phone and these DECT phones have much better reception. I have a tri-level home and main phone is in lower level, placed other two phones in other two levels. Just the base unit needs a phone connections, other two hand sets can be placed anywheres. So far reception anywheres in the home is awesome, no static at all. The phones were easy to set-up, the phone feel and quality is very nice as well, like its not a bulky phone. Has many features, speakerphone, intercom, talking caller ID, can check answering machine messages from any handset, etc. Also love Panasonic phones come with individual batteries vs. battery packs, should be cheaper to replace.

AMAZIN
This phone is amazing! I just bought this phone today, and I got a great deal! Whenever the phone rang while eating, I had to walk across the house just to reach our cordless phone! Now, there's one in every room! I would recommend this phone to anyone who needs one. It's exactly like a celluar phone. There's even this intercom thing, so you can call other phones in the house. It is so simple and pleasent. I'm so amazed with this.
