  • 2 months to go before I become a temporary recluse

I am a long time zelda fan, and have always felt the tried and true formula of zelda going missing, and having to fight ganondorf has worked. However, with this game, you get a brand new villain, Demon Lord Ghirahim. Also, in a recent interview, creator shigeru miyamoto himself said that the game would have 50-100 hours of gameplay!!! The most any zelda game has ever had. These things alone make me excited, but there is so much more. The storyline from what has been revealed, will be fantastic. Not only do we have this new villain, but we also have a new world to explore, skyloft, and while you will explore what will come to be known as hyrule, it has been made all but certain that it is not populated by humans yet, as they reside in skyloft. What's more, this game has it's position in the timeline cemented as being before Ocarina of Time, because a key aspect of the game will be that you are forging the master sword from the skyward sword. Other than that, not much has been released, but you can be assured, this is a new direction for zelda, and all things point to the choices being the right ones. Next, you have the gameplay, and how it will challenge you. As everyone who has interest in the game should know, you will have 1 to 1 control of the sword with help of the wiimotion plus. This will provide for interesting fights, such as the demo against ghirahim at e3, or any of the other enemies they have revealed. But that is only the tip of the iceberg, thanks to the brand new stamina and shield meter's, you won't just be able to do willy nilly, but must think through your actions, or you may leave yourself wide open. Also for the first time, they are incorporating an upgrade system for all weapons and items you use, from the shield, to the sling shot and so on (though the sword may not be one of the items) with what looks item collection reminiscent of wind waker, but with the items having more use as a whole. For that, and so much more i have heard about, makes me feel like this will be a good and challenging, but fun, zelda (for more information about this and other, check out gameinformer.com/zelda this month for exclusive new zelda information and videos). I have heard may people say a variety of things about the graphics, from they love it, to they all but hate it. I view it as a combination of the vibrant and vastly varying colors of windwaker, with the more adult feel of twilight princess. They have taken a beautiful real world art style and used it to make this not simply another realistic zelda game (If i want realism i can go for batman or call of duty) like twilight princess, but it's own world of fantasy and wonder, which i think suits the world of zelda quite nicely, because maybe some of you think differently, but i find that i would prefer zelda to be an escape from reality (though don't get me wrong, i have nothing against a high definition version of zelda, I'm just saying that this is not at all, imo, a bad graphical choice.). As for the audio, sadly, my laptop is lacking in sound at the moment, not to mention i do not feel like, from what i have personally heard, and what people say of the stuff i have not, i can give it an accurate score, so for now my judgement is reserved, but considering that this will also be the first zelda to actually have a live orchestra perform the music, we can almost rest assured that it will have some of the best music of the game. These are my general feelings on each topic, but they in no way portray all my thoughts on the subject. Let me just sum it all up to say that, whether you are a newer zelda fan, have been here from the very first one, or this will be your first time in the zelda universe, this looks to be a phenomenal game changer for the series that, in my humble opinion, has everything it needs to surpass Ocarina of Time as the best zelda game to date, and will also pave the way for a new era of legend of zelda games. Now all i ask is that everybody stay out of my way in line so that i can get my game at midnight, rush home, and stay up for the subsequent 24 hours to play this game. And also, that all driver's kindly stay out of the roads and off my ways when i head home from school each day so that i waste no time in returning to my game. That is all. Peace and triforce pieces.

  • Looks Good, Except...

The game looks fun and I can't wait for the release. I would have been more excited about the graphics, if they were LoZ: Twilight Princess style. I think the game will still be great though, especially with extra Wii Motion Plus control.

  • legend of zelda: can we trust bestbuy?

the game it's self is fantastic. the graphics is like a living painting. but the release of the game has been delayed alot, and there has been no definate release date given by nintendo. the ontly release date is by best buy, which is set for 9-25-11. this may or may not be true. the game it's self features ingenius controls, a toggleable side HUB and even a sprint and jump option for the first time in zelda history. the release date however has ranged from chrismas 2010, april 1st 2011, and now september 25 2011. we wont know for sure until e3, but the game it's self is solid..

  • Awesome game for anyone

Anyone who is a huge zelda fan is going to love this game. Even people who don't really know much about it are going to find it amazing, and will soon become fans themselves. The whole 1 on 1 sword fighting is amazing, you get to now really stratagize for how you are going to fight your enemies. The graphics have the Wind Waker look but is way better by a thousand times. I expect the game to have a really good long story that keeps the game going. I think this will be the BEST Zelda game EVER!!!!!! I believe that everyone will enjoy this game.

  • I carry my DSi with me EVERYWHERE I go!!

I begged my fiance for a DSi for months after it released. Nintendo really knows how to please the masses with their platforms. The DS lite was great, and the DSi is just that much better, and for only $40 more. The dual camera option is great, and I love playing with the different options of color and stamps to create fun little snapshots. One thing I haven't seen advertised ANYWHERE is the connectivity to Facebook. I can post photos straight to my Facebook account, as long as I have a Wi-Fi connection, and my friends really get a kick out of it. The internet browsing is slow and doesn't always work, but this little guy is aimed at kids, so I can understand why it doesn't need to be fantastic. If I had kids, I would really be sold on the parental control options. You can limit what is viewed on the internet, limit the sending of photos, and the best part, limit ESRB ratings. So if your kid goes to someone elses house and borrows a game which you don't think is appropriate, the DSi locks itself and can only be bypassed by a security code (which you can do in the initial set up). I love the option for an SD card, and so far I've noticed you don't HAVE to buy Nintendo's special white SD made for the DSi or the Wii, I use an old one from my camera, plus the same size card is available in the camera section for cheaper. When it came down to a handheld (being a huge gamer) there was no contest between PSP and the DSi. Yes the PSP has much better graphics and internet connectivity, but you buy it to play games, and a handful is all you're going to have to chose from in any store. The DS games in my local Best Buy takes up an entire aisle, whereas the PSP games have a short 4 ft. section. I've also noticed that most PSP games are adult oriented with very few children/family/something different choices (just like the PS3 games). So far I have a wonderful exercise program, a cooking program that hasn't failed me yet, and the classic Zelda. Three things that don't even exist for the PSP. So far, the only thing that has me perplexed and annoyed is that fact that it's almost impossible to find a data transfer cable. The DSi can play music like an MP3 player, but so far the only way I can see to get music on there is to put some MP3's on my SD card...something that's impossible because I don't have a memory card slot on my laptop, and no other way to move music onto it. I must admit, the music option was a big selling point for me, but I'm not in the least bit upset, nor do I even notice, I'm too busy playing.

  • Much better than original DS! Cool camera!

Overall the new DSi is very cool, but the biggest pain is that they changed the charger - UGH! Now I have to go out and buy new car chargers. Don't know why they didn't keep the charger the same so you could use the ones you already had. Internet access is cool, but sometimes very slow - but I guess that's no big deal. The camera is so neat and the program is a lot of fun! Highly recommend the DSi over the original DS.

  • What an upgrade to the DS Lite!

The DSi is a great upgrade to the DS Lite. - First off, the cameras have amazing quality for such a low megapixel. When you first get it, perform a system update which will allow you to upload the picture straight to your facebook account. It is much easier than downloading pictures to you computer then onto facebook. - Next, the music player is great. Just make sure that you convert your music to aac format. The easiest way that I found was to use iTunes. - The speakers are greatly improved. The Volume is much higher and the quality is much better than the DS Lite. I have never heard Mario Kart Ds like I have on the DSi. -The .25 inch screen addition really does add to gameplay in a game like Mario Kart Ds. You really do notice the difference. -The DSi shop is great. Flipnote studio is really fun and free. Just make sure to get your DSi before October 5 to get 1000 free points. I downloaded Mario vs Donkey Kong and it is really fun. I am looking into getting Dr Mario and Wario Ware. The internet browser is amazing. Much better than the Wii browser. - All in all, the DSi is a great game console and even tops the DS Lite (I have the blue DS lite too). I love my blue DSi. I am so glad that I baught it as a Birthday gift to me. So go ahead, get it, you will not regret it!

  • DSi or DS downgrade?

The DSi is a great system for a new person looking for a new way to play video games. Someone who is interested in mobile gaming. If you own a Wii you can connect your DSi for certain games. If you own GBA games don't throw away your DS or DS lite. Since you will be unable to play any of your GBA games. Some words of advice for anyone wanting to get a DSi by now don't wait. Or it will be too late. In two years thier will be something new out. Meaning Buy late lose money! Frenchy out.

  • The next level in gaming

I really like this handheld system. Disappointed about of the removal GBA slot. However, it is a small price to pay for a great system like this. Cameras are fun to play with and the music player has great sound quality.

  • Worth the Wait!

I've been devating with myself whether to get the DS lite or wait until the DSi is available! I could say it was really worth the wait! It feels like a DS lite but much better.... with it's 2 built-in camera, sound recording & you can even play with your own music saved on your SD memory card! And to top it all up, it even comes in with my favorite color! The only down side about it is it's not compatible with my Game Boy games!

  • Great upgrade to the Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DSi is an upgrade to the previous DS system, which has sold over 100 million units worldwide. In comparison to the DS system, the DSi is thinner, longer and the inner screens are slightly bigger. The camera is not high quality and you cannot (as of yet) swap pictures via wireless internet, but you can to other nearby DSi systems. This summer, however, users can upload pics directly to Facebook. Future games will incorporate the camera to allow gamers to put their own images and faces in games. The handheld lacks a GBA slot which will make games such as Guitar Hero unplayable. But the biggest draw is the ability to download games via DSiWare (similar to the Wii). As of this writing, there is not much available for it yet, but it will soon be populated with lots of content, application and more. At only $40 more than the current DS, the DSi is definately worth the upgrade.

  • BEASTLY

I always wanted a ds... so Im glad I waited until the dsi came out. I bought one for me and one for my boyfriend. He got the black one is cute but.. its more delicate then the blue. I got the blue one. The first time we open the box we started playing with the photos... it was so much fun, and then the games were easy to play... I got Brain age 2, and he got mario.bros ( I love the fack that you can share the games and play togueter even if you dont have the same game. I recomended to anyone is fun, small and its worth it.!!

  • Didn't expect much, wouldn't sell it for $500

What I love most about this system is the ability to download games. The system comes with a 1000 free points ($10) to buy games. For as little as 2 dollars you can buy a game. Brain age is available in smaller form, and it makes use of the camera. The camera is great to play around with, but don't expect a Nikon. You screen is slightly bigger, however I really notice the difference on all games, especially the Mario games. Not enough downloads...they are coming, Dr. Mario was just released in original form with extra features. Enjoy! You won't regret buying a DSi.

  • I love my DSi /DS both!!

Well I broke down and bought the new DSi I love it! over all I was told that the DSi wouldn't fit in my DS case ...when it does My case has a strap and I like that but, the DSi case doesn't come with a strap To me I'm glad the nice DS case fits both the DS/DSi ..here is pictures to prove it. And if you have kids they will want the strap so they won't drop it as easy.

  • Best portable game system available

I really like it so much. One thing about it that i have to say, when ever you look at it. it looks brand new because it doesnt smudge which is good. The cameras work better in better lighting conditions. Also it has a ton of fun effects. you can play with your music. you get free points to buy games from the store but you need to go to the store befor october to get it! This is far better than the psp. People say it has only like fun games. But there is alot of awesome titles like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Echoes of time. Its so much fun when you play online with other people. for an example though. Animals crossing is a must have. To sum it up... its a portable wii.

  • Solid, Compact, Good Battery Life, Feature packed

I had a difficult time deciding between the DSi and the DS lite due to the price difference. My purpose was to use a DS (or DSi) as a supplemental language study tool and low cost alternative to the more expensive Electronic Dictionaries that range from $450-$600. In the end, I decided upon the DSi for its SD card slot and because of Wi Fi web connect. I also bought "My Japanese Coach" to supplement the college textbooks I'm currently using (as "MJC" has a decent J>E E>J dictionary). Buyers' remorse is a common thing with any purchase and this quickly faded as I continue to find Japanese sites with applications and games that turn this little toy into a very versatile tool. I purchased a 4GB SD card and use this to store music and audio language files in AAC format. The system will store and list 3000 audio files (or 1000 folders) in addition to 3000 photos. Sound quality is surprisingly good from such small speakers and standard earphones work great. With the Nintendo DSi w/ "My Japanese Coach" and a language card available only from Japan (name: "Rakubiki Jiten") and its web connect, I am transforming my DSi into a learning and travel tool. Scenario: Downtown Tokyo (or even your local Japanese restaurant) 1) Take a photo of a sign or word and 'Save' 2) if you know the pronunciation, enter into "MJC" reference OR if it's all in all KANJI characters, WRITE the character and 'enter'. Voila! a list of words with the option to enter an attending character with definitions! Thank God for touch screen technology! Scenario: Bored while at Wi Fi Coffee Shop 1) Open OPERA Browser (Free from Nintendo for DSi) and connect 2) Check E~mail, stocks, favorite web sites, etc. Game Play: As an adult, I thought I had outgrown the need for games beyond my PC collection. I was wrong. Game play is easy with DSi interface and a welcome break from the learning tools described. Miscellany: The Nintendo DSi is still new yet has great potential as a very versatile mobile gadget. As the unit evolves, system upgrades will be in the form of online softwareand firmware updates to expand its current functions. Nintendo is already developing exclusive applications and games for download from the Nintendo Store. Summary: It's small, well made with long battery life and a heck of a lot of fun. It fits easily in my pocket and fills the space between my cell phone and laptop. As an all around game system, Nintendo has added more processing power and system memory (133 MHz and 256 MB respectively). Game play and load times are fast, web surfing included. As a tool to be used in the manner I've described, I wish this had been available a year ago. I feel that you as a potential owner will find the DSi to fill your expectations and over time, you'll find more uses for it .

  • Halfway There

It's a good upgrade. The camera blew my expectations away because it was only .3 MP (mega pixels). The DSi shop is like the Wii, which is pretty good. The major bad thing about it is the web browser. It is SOOOOO SLOW! The iPod Touch is much better than this. You might as well get the iPhone, which is double the speed of the iPod Touch for taking pictures. You can get bored very easily with the Photoshop and Music. You can only have AAC format for music, no MP3s nor videos. Overall, it's okay.

  • WHAT

The new things about this DS is sort battery,it's slimmer but more longer, bigger screen but looks the same. The no GBA port is not good news for people who like playing GBA games and people who like playing Guitar Hero. The web browser is not so good it's slow and kinda ugly. Music on the DSi is cool and so is the things that let u play with the music.Camera could be better. Also it kind looks like there trying to copy the PSP with the music and web browser and another things, just look at what they both can do.

  • Best Electronic Ever!

I have not bought this item yet, but it is comming out on April 5th. I love it so much. Me and my friend are buying it in blue and bringing it to school to brag about how awsome this product is. No, Im just kidding... ... ...or am I? But anyway, there are many features. You can take pictures with the inner and outer camera, edit them, and more. You can listen to music. You can record your vioce and change it's pitch. You can browse on a flash supported Opera web browser. You can play Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS LIte games on this. You can even download more app's and earn points. There are many, many more features, but you are gonna have to find that out for yourself. I love this item so much. My mother promised me she would give it to me for Easter because my Nintendo DS Lite broke

  • DSi

The Nintendo DSi is a great portable system, if you can get one. I happen to own the Japanese One, and i love it. I would pick this over a PSP, only because the PSP is only good for modding anymore.
