Xbox 360 Data Transfer Cable
Nothing much to say here except that it worked as it should. Kind of a high price for a one time use item, but what are you gonna do?

Great for when your Xbox Red Rings
My original Xbox red ringed again, and unfortunately this time it was out of warranty. Instead of paying for the repairs through Microsoft, I went ahead and upgraded to a new Xbox with a larger hard drive. I needed to transfer my games and data over, and there is no better item than the data transfer cable. This device does the job and preformed admirably, transferring my files from my old hard drive to my new one flawlessly and without any problems.

Gets the job done
Bought this with my Xbox 250GB a few weeks ago. Had an old one with a 60GB hard drive and did not want to lose all that info. Took no time at all to do and was just simple.

doesn't work
Since original xbox red ringed, purchased new one, and with the wonderful new internal harddrive design you can't just move your old harddrive to new box. shelled out additional $20 for transfer cable so I could 'just plug it in new xbox and connect harddrive' and move all my game saves and profile over. new xbox doesn't recognize the harddrive as an xbox harddrive thinks its just a jump drive or something. called xbox support they said they woudl mail shipping label for me to mail them this transfer cable and then they would send me a different one. 2 weeks later still no mailing label.

Rip off
This is the worst 360 accessory. $35 for an item I can only used once. I can't even let a friend use this because it self destructs (metaphorically). Just spend almost the same amount on a memory stick it is five bucks more and can be used as much as one wants. I returned mine and bought a rechargeable battery for a controller. Don't be a fool!

Really microsoft
Don't get me wrong if you want to transfer all your saved game data then this cord does it's job. It is eaiser than going back and downloading all the avatar stuff i bought and games as well. But come on Microsoft this couldn't be part of the new Xbox. As far as use it's easy to use. If you have ever transferred anything from a computer or to anthor HD then you will have no problem with this device. The price seems pricey but again i am peeved that this could not be part of the new system. Overall if you want your saved game data and your stuff you have downloaded this is a good purchase.

Works as advertised/Shouldn't Need it
Maybe if I was coming from PS3 or even an older XBox format should I need this. Not just from going from one XBox 360 to another. Since this is required it should be included for free. A one time use item should never cost the user. Let your R&D department do it.

It works
The transfer cable worked great for my needs. My other friends had problems but that could have been a user error. The price is a tad steep considering I only needed this for a one time deal, but that's Microsoft...

So easy to use a Billy Goat could do it
I got this as I recently purchased the new 360 S and I needed it to copy my hard drive files over to it and when it was done I had my files; now I need to rebuild my 360 game library. You take it out of the box, put one end on the hard drive like it shows you then plug the other into the 360 S or old school 360 and transfer away.

Does its job well but for $20?
Bought this to copy info from my old XBOX 360 Elite hard drive to my new XBOX 360 Slim hard drive. Very easy to do. Plug hard drive connector into old hard drive and usb connector into usb port on new xbox, and go to memory section in system settings and select copy from transfer cable to hard drive. Only issue is that I had to pay $20 for the transfer cable to use basically once. I think a usb to usb connection for the copy function would have been just as good if it were available. Recommend this to someone with same requirement simply because it is the only way to do it.

Does exactly what it says it does.
If you bought a new XBox360 and want to transfer all of your old data over to the new hard drive, then you'll need this kit. Easy to use, just follow the directions--essentially it's linking one hard drive into the other. The only thing that stinks is that you're paying about twenty bucks for something you'll (hopefully) only use once. So, if you've got other friends who need to transfer their saved data, DLC, and awesome gamer pictures, split the cost.

They Should Give These Away for Free
Imagine paying $20 for a tissue that you can blow your nose with just once. Would you be tempted to keep it because it was so expensive? They should give these away for free.

Great Idea - Great Product
The only way to move your profile, game saves, downloads, etc. including the software licenses to a new Xbox - as long as your old hard drive still works.

Great for modders
I bought this just for modding and it was exactly what i was looking for, with a few simple programs you can mod your gamerscore, gamertag, avatar color, etc...

Fast and easy to use
I bought this cable with my new Xbox 360 and it worked great! It was easy to use and there were no problems connecting and transfering. The price is a bit high but at least i dont have to start all over on everything again. very useful device and cheaper than the microsoft USB Key. although i didnt like how i couldnt share licenses on two xboxes. on one xbox it has both the DLC for Modern warfare 2 but on the other there are no DLC for the game after the transfer because of license issues.otherwise a great tool
